Join us for Open Ramp Day on Sunday, October 22nd from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, the ultimate planespotting event at Hobby Airport! Experience the thrill up close with unparalleled views of aircraft in motion from both the Museum's ramp and upper floors, along with a static aircraft display, VR flight simulator, and an insightful historical talk on ‘Trans-Texas Airways.’ As a bonus, feast your eyes on iconic automobiles from The Grand Invitational 2023, presented by the Classic Chassis Car Club of Houston and Lambda Car Club International. Whether you choose to fly in or drive in, we invite you to join the excitement and support our shared passion for aviation.

Planespotting: Capture the thrill up close at Hobby Airport, home to Houston's premier plane spotting location. Grab your camera and enjoy unobstructed views of aircraft in motion from both the Museum's ramp and upper floors.

Drive-ins: We're thrilled to be one of the select host sites for The Grand Invitational 2023, an event proudly presented by the Classic Chassis Car Club of Houston and Lambda Car Club International. Step back in time and marvel at the beauty of these iconic automobiles as you stroll through our venue.

Fly-ins and Drive-ins: Join us on the ramp for Tiger Flight’s fly by. Meet Pilot ‘Bloke’ and Rodney to learn about their incredible planes and life as an aviator.

Historical Talk: At 12:00 PM, don't miss the Historical Talk by Michael Bludworth: "Trans-Texas Airways." Dive into captivating stories that unveil the airline's journey from DC-3 dominance to its influence on today's aviation giants.

VR Flight Simulator: Step into a virtual cockpit, take control, and soar with the VR flight simulator. Experience the thrill of piloting a simulated flight from Hobby Airport and beyond. Suitable for aviation enthusiasts of all ages.

Museum Exhibits:
